Free tool
Free ATS CV checker
Upload your CV as a PDF: you see the text as recruitment software reads it, the sections it recognises and, if you paste an offer, the keywords already there and those to add. The file is analysed, then discarded.
What the checker looks at
- The text: a PDF exported from a word processor gives real text; a scan or an image gives very little.
- Contact details: email address and phone number written out in full.
- Sections: Experience, Education, Skills and Languages, with headings software recognises.
- Reading order: the text as it comes out of the file, to spot mixed-up columns.
- Keywords: the offer's tools and acronyms already in your CV, and those to add.
What comes next
The checker shows the form of the file. For the content, the guide What is an ATS? explains what recruiters look for, and how to tailor your CV to a job offer gives the method. ATSway produces an ATS-friendly CV and tailors it to each offer.
Frequently asked questions
Is the checker free?
Yes, and it runs on this page in a few seconds. The limit is twenty checks a day.
What happens to my CV?
It is read in memory for the analysis, then deleted. The result shows on this page and disappears when you leave it.
Does the checker reproduce a specific ATS?
It reads the PDF the way the simplest text parsers do. A file that passes this check reads well in most recruitment software.
